Bret Hart Morning Radio Interview Notes

Bret Hart was on the 93x morning show out of Minneapolis this morning to promote the book that took him 7 years to write. He commented on how the book originally was 1,200 pages when it was sent to the publisher and was then cut down to 500+.

He noted that he's proud of this book and how it's his "send off", and that it's all he has left to say about pro wrestling.

Bret also discussed the fact that the way wrestlers are treated today, is really no different than back in the day. "They're just cattle" he said, "wrestlers have to do what their told, if they don't do it, they'll find someone that will." He also said that there is nothing to protect their well being, and the only attempt to protect them by organizing some kind of union was tried by Jesse Ventura and Hogan ratted him out to the powers that be, which put an end to that. Hogan would have been the only one with any clout, that would have been able to organize something like this

When asked if he could do it all over again, would he have hit McMahon twice? He jokingly replied, "No, once is all it took. But I would probably have taken a flame thrower to Shawn Michaels."

The book is called "Hitman: My Real Life In The Cartoon World Of Wrestling" and is available now.

In JR's latest blog, he gives the following opinion on the book:

"I can't remember when I felt compelled to read one 'wrestling' book twice but the Bret Hart book is the first. If you are a real fan of the business and you don't read this book then you are not really a fan of the business. "
